Unemployment tops list of concerns of Ghanaian electorate A research conducted by the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana showed that unemployment was number one on the list of issues the electorates want to be addressed by political parties. Poverty and unreliable power supply were the others making the top three on the list. This was made known at a round table on this year's (2016) election. Speaking at the forum, the African Regional Director of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, (IDEA), Prof. Adebayo Olukoshi, identified presidential debates as healthy in the practice of democracy. This he said, offers the platform for the Presidential Candidates to engage each other for the electorates to make informed choices. GBC
