26th October, 2016 The Daily Graphic describes how commendable the donation of GH¢300,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre Korle-Bu, by President Mahama and siblings. The Paper also notes the contribution by Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng and other well-meaning Ghanaians in establishing the National Cardiothoracic Centre and the Ghana Heart Foundation, to support heart ailments. The paper says such interventions matter a great deal, as many children from poor backgrounds are not able to afford the huge healthcare costs, especially that of heart procedures. The Ghanaian Times writes on decriminalization of drug use. The paper says the Narcotic Control Commission Bill 2015, has been proposed so that drug use and addiction will no longer be a punishable offence when Parliament passes the bill into law. The paper notes that it is encouraged that the bill has so far received a bipartisan support from Parliament, which indeed points to a good indication that the bill will be passed. The paper hopes that security agencies and health authorities will support government in its quest to establish centres to rehabilitate drug addicts . GBC
