Writing under the heading ''Bringing back glorious days of InterCity STC', the Daily Graphic is of the view that there is no doubt that, public transportation is a crucial part of the solution to the nation's economic, energy and environmental challenges. According to the paper, it is essential to look at additional avenues beyond fares in order to sustain the system. The paper says it is important that the management of the company learn lessons from the past which led to the near collapse of the bus system. The Graphic is worried about the usual Ghanaian attitude to state ventures that has contributed to the collapse of many businesses. It calls for a change in attitude and expects that stringent maintenance measures will be put in place to ensure that the buses last long. 

The Ghanaian Times expresses worry about the rate at which chiefs dabble in politics these days. The paper describes the trend as alarming and may spell doom for the nation if allowed to develop further. The Times says chieftaincy is a revered institution and all who occupy the position of chiefs are accorded due respect as leaders of society. It is for this and many other reasons that the constitution explicitly exempts them from active partisan politics. The paper therefore appeals to chiefs to desist from declaring support for political parties, adding that it might bring the institution into disrepute.

GBC
