NPP Northern Regional Chairman calls on activists to police ballot boxes

The NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu, has reiterated his call to NPP activists to be vigilant and police the ballot box on December 7. 

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd at a politically rally at Gurugu, a suburb of Tamale, the enigmatic chairman said for those yearning for change, their interest should be in the ballot box. 

Mr. Bugri was last week invited by the Northern Regional Police Command to explain comments he made on a campaign platform in Nalerigu. 

He is reported to have said that the NPP will employ macho men to guard ballot boxes on December 7. 

As the December polls near, there are concerns over potential violence and many peace activists are at work spreading the peace message. 

There have also been calls from religious and traditional rulers to politicians to be mindful of their language.
