Finance Minister to present first quarter of 2017 budget to Parliament

The Finance Minister Seth Tekper will October 20 present to parliament expenditure in advance of appropriation which will cover government's budget for the first quarter of 2017. 

Estimates of revenue for the next financial year will also be presented.

A member of the finance committee of parliament, Amadu Seidu said the purpose of the presentation of the budget is to ensure that government machinery does not grind to a halt in case there is a change of government.

He said he does not expect the introduction of more taxes.
