Prof Adu Boahen's wife Aunty Mary dies at age 90 Wife of late Professor Albert Kwadwo Adu Boahen, Mrs. Mary Adu Boahen, is dead. She died at age 90. Professor Adu Boahen was a Ghanaian academic, historian, and politician. He was a candidate in the 1992 Ghanaian presidential election, representing the main opposition New Patriotic Party. Professor Adu Boahen wrote the “stolen verdict” after he lost the election to the founder of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings. The Chairman of NPP Legal and Constitutional Committee, Professor Mike Ocquaye who confirmed the death said she died peacefully on her bed Sunday morning. According to him, the wife of the celebrated Ghanaian historian did not battle with any sickness. Mrs. Adu Boahen's death comes 10 years after the death of her husband who died on May 24, 2006 the same day he turned 74 years old. Her body has since been deposited at the morgue.
