Irate youth burn properties of alleged witches

Report reaching Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, (GBC) indicates that, about six houses and several other properties belonging to alleged witches at Nyanshegu in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region have been set ablaze by some irate youth of the area.  

Radio Ghana`s correspondent Mohammed Fugu says the youth chased out the occupants and sent them to the chief palace before burning down the houses. 

According to Radio Ghana`s source, the angry youth are demanding the chief to banish the alleged witches from the area. 

They are accusing them for casting evil spells over the community and destroying the fortunes of illustrious youth. 

Police who were initially dispatched to the area to ensure calm where also chased out by the youth as they wielded dangerous weapons. 

Personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces and police service have since dispatched to the area to ensure calm. 

No Casualty is recorded so far.
