First Lady Mrs. Mahama visits Jaggar Pee following his heart surgery


Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, has visited a renowned Ghanaian actor Abeiku Nyame popularly known as Jaggar Pee at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, following a successful open heart surgery.

Mrs. Mahama was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare visited Jaggar Pee.
 
The first lady presented a cheque of an unspecified amount to the ailing actor, who is currently recuperating after undergoing open heart surgery at the Korle-Bu Teaching.
 
Wife of the veteran actor, Beatrice Nkansah received the cheque on behalf of Jagger Pee in the presence of Dr. Siribour who successfully performed the surgical operation. 

Mrs. Mahama used the occasion to also thank Dr. Siribour and his team for performing the surgical operation on Jagger Pee successfully. 

The actor has been battling with a heart ailment for some months now. 

He was recently rushed to the Holy Trinity Hospital at North Kaneshie and later transferred to the 37 Military Hospital. 
After going through a medical test at the national Cardiothoracic centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the report indicated that he was suffering from rheumatic heart disease with severe aortic valve incompetence and mild to moderate mitral valve regurgitation. 

Jaggar Pee was one of the leading actors and made a tremendous contribution to the Ghanaian movie industry until an unfortunate situation took him to prison in 1996. 

Abeiku has featured in a number of movies such as landlord and TV series like “Chorkor Trotro.” 

Some of his collegues, Albert Jackson-Davis and Edinam Atatsi who also visited him thanked Mrs. Lordina Mahama and the Minister for MOTCCA, Auntie Lizzy for helping to make the operation successful and also for their care.

According to them Jagger Pee will soon join his “Get Involved Theatre family” as the unfold some nostalgically, excellent productions reminiscent of when they were on TV some 30 years ago.

They also hinted that faces like, William Addo – Akpatse, Grace Nortey, Edinam Atatsi, Sir Robert, Albert Jackson-Davis - Billygoat/Okesie/ Engineer
Mawuli Semevo – Bifon,  Akofa Edjeani – Annette, Samuel Duah, will soon appear on the TV screens.
