The Daily Graphic joins hands with UNESCO to buttress the fact that World Teachers’ Day represents a significant token of awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development. To mark the Day, the Ministry of Education rewarded more than one hundred teachers, National Service personnel, foreign volunteers as well as retired teachers at a ceremony in the Bono Ahafo Region. The paper commends all teaching staff in the country for their hard work and dedication even in the face of limited resources. It however adds that much is expected of teachers to salvage the sinking image of education in the country. 

The Daily Heritage lauds teachers for the performance of candidates in this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination. The paper says even though the maximum raw score in six subjects; that is four core subjects and two best subjects is 600, as many as 3,994 candidates scored more than 500, in this year's BECE which is unprecedented. The paper is of the view that the attitude of the public descending on teachers whenever students fail their exams, but ignore same when students perform well, is a misplaced one. The Daily Heritage commends teachers for their contribution to nation building.
