KMA Election: Minister calls for calm The Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Kwaku Agyemang Mensah, has appealed to Assembly members and other stakeholders to put the interest and development of the people of Kumasi above all considerations and elect a presiding member. He said the Assembly, not being able to elect a Presiding Member since it's inauguration last year has retarded the development of Kumasi and its environs. As a former Regional Minister of the Ashanti Region, Mr Agyemang Mensah in a statement said he is deeply concerned about the state of affairs and appealed to the various factions to bury their differences and put the Assembly in its proper place for the growth and development of the country. He said the KMA is so central to the country's democratic governance that the present developments tend to diminish the strategic importance of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly. GBC
