Tono and Vea Irrigation increase rice production

The Tono irrigation scheme in Navrongo and Vea in Bolgatanga are now increasing rice production from four tons per hectare to six tons as a result of the introduction of new technology in rice cultivation.

Speaking to Radio Ghana on youth mobilization into the rice production business, the Chief Executive of the Tono Irrigation Scheme, Sebastian Gbaginaa said the project can now produce five thousand metric tons a season.
