Roads and Highways to undertake repair works on roads affected by rains The Ministry of Roads and Highways is taking action to repair and rectify damages to some roads and bridges, resulting from the recent rainfall in various parts of the country, particularly in the Northern Region. This was in a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit, Ministry of Roads and Highways and copied to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra, on July 30, 2016. The statement said, Road Agencies under the Ministry, namely the Ghana Highway Authority, Department of Urban Roads and the Department of Feeder Roads have been directed to, as a matter of urgency, take action to remedy the situation. The Roads and Highways Ministry is assuring all contractors and the motoring public that, adequate resources have been made available to carry out these emergency works. It therefore entreats the public to bear with the Ministry as the necessary steps to address the challenges associated with the aftermath of what it described as acts of nature. The Ministry is also appealing to motoring public to be safety conscious on the roads to avert accidents. GBC
