Ghanaian Highlife musician Daasebre Gyamenah is dead

Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician Daasebre Gyamenah is reported dead. 

Reports say he died after a short illness on Friday, July 29 2016, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

He is known in the music industry as “Ahoofe”, a name his fans gave him after the release of his hit song, “Ahoofe”, which literally means beautiful or the handsome one.

Ahoofe Gyamenah who was born into the Islam faith with the name Abubakar Sadique, lost his Muslim mother, at the age of 5 years.
 
Ahoofe Gyamenah has many hit songs including “Kokoko”, “Still I love You” and “Wo da enda”.

In May 2007, Daasebre was jailed in the UK, after he was found guilty of possessing illicit drugs.
