Gov’t To Adequately Equip Fisher-folks To Facilitate Their Work President John Mahama has inaugurated a new net mending wharf for fishermen at the Tema Habour. The wharf is a platform that enables the fisher-folks to mend their nets. The old one that was being used canon longer accommodate the growing fisher population. President Mahama said government recognises the important role of fishers to the country's economy. In view of this, government is providing outboard motors, fishing nets, head pans and soft loans to facilitate their work. President Mahama commended the Ghana Ports and Habours Authority for replacing the mending wharf. He said it will serve as an encouragement to other state owned enterprises to undertake beneficiary projects on their own balance sheet. GBC
