Finance Minister presents 2016 supplementary budget to Parliament Government is requesting Parliamentary approval to appropriate additional GH¢1.8 billion to enable it carry out its planned programmes and activities for the 2016 fiscal year. Government was granted the power to withdraw a little over GH¢50 billion from the consolidated fund for its activities for the year in the 2016 budget however unmet revenue targets and shortfalls in commodity prices and other expenditure commitments have necessitated the additional request to meet obligations for the rest of the year. The Finance Minister, Seth Terkper, tabled this Monday when he presented the supplementary estimates and the review of the performance of the economy in Parliament. Mr Terkper said government has achieved success in the restructuring of the energy sector debts. GBC
