TMA seeks partnership to complete Nkrumah park The Tema Metropolitan Assembly, TMA has called on corporate organisations operating in the harbour city to partner it to complete the beautification of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. The first phase of the recreational park located near the Tema Development Corporation, saw the mounting of the statue of the first President of Ghana, Dr Kwame Nkrumah and other statues in recognition of his vision to build Tema as the first well planned city in West Africa. Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Isaac Ashai Odamtten, said the Assembly is ready to start the second phase of the project. Mr Odamtten made the call when OMA-Ghana, a shipping company, planted 50 trees at the park and placed six benches on the park.He said the second phase would see the construction of a dwarf wall with a gate around the park, a walkway, and greenery. The park is also expected to have a resource centre, fountain, library, restaurant and areas for relaxation.The Operations Manager of OMA Ghana, Nana Osei Agyekum Kyere, said his outfit has budgeted a total of 150 thousand cedis to help beautify the park.
