Calm returns to Sepe Tinponmu after burial of Tarik Issaku


Calm has returned to Sepe Tinponmu, a suburb of Kumasi after the burial of a 21 year old man Tarik Issaku a resident of Sepe Tinponmu, who was shot and killed by the Headmaster of New Age International School at Adukrom. 

Police are still patrolling the area including the premises of the School which the police believe is being threatened by some resident. 

Earlier on, some properties of the school was destroyed by angry resident who accused the headmaster, Tauffick Mohammed Tahiru, 37 now in Police custody at the Zongo Divisional Police Headquarters of killing Issaku intentionally. 

His house at Adukrom is also under threat of being burnt. 

Some suspects believed to have taken part in destroying some property at the school have been rounded up by the police for interrogation. 

The Acting Zongo Police Divisional Commander, Superintendent Adane Nyamekye Ameyaw told Radio Ghana’s Correspondent that the police are doing all within their powers to maintain law and order in the area. 

He has therefore appealed to the people especially the youth not to take the law into their own hands as the police will drastically deal with anyone found to disturb the peace. 

Superintendent Nyamekye said Tahiru would be arraigned before court as soon as investigations are complete.
