University of Ghana experiences financial stability

The University of Ghana has seen financial stability in the last five years due to new set of regulations to manage the finances of the university. Gone are the days when staff and heads of faculties are unable to account for monies and logistics under their care. 

Vice chancellor of the university, Professor Ernest Aryeetey said the extra sophisticated financial management strategies will be adopted as part of the university's four year plan to strengthen the internal audit system to further position the university on a sound financial footing. 

He was speaking at the joint congregation of the college of health sciences and the college of education of the university in Accra.

Delivering his last congregation address, the outgoing Vice chancellor of the university of Ghana professor Ernest Aryeetey touched on several areas the university saw significant turnaround during his tenure. 

He said the university is in full control of its finances as structures put in place to curtail irregularities are working.

Professor Aryeetey said a lot of hard working, commitment and dedication contributed to the university's number 7th position in Africa on the with worlds education rankings.

Guest speaker Cecelia Lodonu Senoo said the role of scientists is paramount as the global community work towards the attainment of the SDG's. 

This is why government much Chanel the needed resources into the sciences in order to equally match the developed countries in the attainment of the eighteen goals. 

GBC's Akpene Avor, Gilbert Anim Kwakye and others were among the over one thousand graduants who were awarded maters in international affairs and masters in philosophy certificates.
