Ghana-India trade to increase from three to five billion dollars

Bilateral trade relations between Ghana and India is expected to increase from three billion to five billion dollars. 

Indian investments in Ghana have already exceeded one billion dollars. 

This came to light when the outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Jeeva Sagar, paid a farewell call on the Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur at the Flagstaff House in Accra. 

He attributed the increased bilateral trade and investment between the two countries to their believe in democracy and  the rule of law. 

Mr. Amissah-Arthur said the two countries are co-operating in the area of international security. In this regard, India has agreed to support Ghana in the field of security. 

Ambassador Sagar said India is still committed to supporting the Kofi Annan ICT Centre in Accra. 

It is for this reason that the India government has pledged a grant of one million dollars for the centre to include Masters Degree and other programs at the Centre. 

He said India is prepared to assist Ghanaian exports with value addition for the country to reap maximum returns . 

Ambassador Sagar commended Vice President Amissah-Arthur for his singular role in deepening Ghana-India bilateral trade and investments drive. 

The outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, is leaving after a three-year duty tour of the country.
