MTTD, DVLA officials clamp down on unlicensed motorbikes in Upper West Region The Upper West Regional Office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, DVLA with support from the Motor Transport and Traffic Department of the Upper West Regional Police Command are clamping down on owners of motorbikes without registration numbers or license to run commercial operation. After seizing a number of motorbikes, the Licensing Manager at the DVLA, Jonathan Martey told Radio Ghana in Wa that many people ride without license, a practice which needs to be stopped. Mr Martey said offenders will be sent to the DVLA to process their documents before the motor bikes and tricycles are released to them. Touching on the operations of commercial tricycles, Mr Martey said about fifty of them have been registered with the Authority. He said measures are underway to get the others to register through their association. BC
