Forum to improve maternal and new-born health outcomes held
 
Pregnancy and child birth are supposed to signify very joyous moments, but it becomes highly regrettable when the pregnancy goes waste after all the investments made or the mother dies during childbirth. 

Research has it that most children die from the neonatal period especially with their 28 days of life.  

In ensuring that there are no preventable deaths of new-born stillbirths, the Upper East Regional Health Directorate supported by UNICEF and KOICA has organised the Fourth Inter-Regional New-Born Stakeholder meeting in Bolgatanga to improve maternal and new-born health outcomes in Ghana, especially the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions. 

The key objective was to take stock of the progress made in the implementation of the National Newborn Strategy and Action Plans.
