Lordina Foundation intensifies free health outreach and screening program The Lordina Foundation has intensified its free health outreach and screening as it shifts attention to remote villages across the country. Background checks by the Foundation into some villages shows that people have little information and knowledge about breast cervical and Sexually Transmitted Diseases STD's. It is for this reason that, the Foundation is committed to seeing these medical outreach programs reaching all Ghanaians especially women irrespective of their age and location. Speaking at Agortime -Kpetoe in the Volta Region, First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama said, bringing the medical outreach and screening programs to the doorstep of people is to lessen their burden, save time and cost of people who cannot afford these services. The medical outreach and health screening programs by the Lordina Foundation is to bring the needed attention to critical health issues affecting people. Health issues such as breast and Cervical Cancer, HIV and AIDS among others are usually ignored by many as most people think they are not so serious. This perception, Mrs. Lordina Mahama hopes to erase as she takes this program across the country. Mrs. Mahama also touted some giant strides made on the prevention of mother-to -child transmission of HIV and Aids. A Commissioner at the Ghana Aids Commission Victor Attah Ntumi said bringing Reproductive Health Services to the doorstep of people is one of the ways government has adopted to make healthcare accessible.
