Some irate youth mounts illegal road blocks at Biriwa

Some irate youth in Biriwa near Cape Coast have mounted four illegal road blocks on the Accra- Cape Coast high portion that passes through the town in a bid to stem the frequent knocking down of the people. 

According to the youth this has been going on since the road was completed. 

They said three people have been knocked down since the beginning of this month. 

They said their patience had run out hence the decision to mount the road blocks. 

As a result, tension is mounting between the community and the police.
 
There is armed police present but are not making any attempt to demolish or clear the road blocks. 

Radio Ghana can report that the situation is causing heavy vehicular traffic from Accra to cape coast and from cape to Accra when approaching the town from either side. 

The irate youth have used heaps of sands, blocks and logs to block the road.
