France declares three-day national mourning after truck attack The French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls has declared three days of national mourning from Saturday, after at least 84 people were mown down by a truck while watching a Bastille Day fireworks display. Mr. Manuel Valls also told newsmen that the government wants to extend the state of emergency which has been in force since the November 13, Paris attacks, until October. He said flags will be flown at half-mast from Friday, and a law extending increased powers for the police will be put before parliament next week. Passengers evacuated from the Nice airport, are however being allowed to return and pick up their luggage. The 84 people died in the French city after a man driving a truck ploughed into Bastille Day revellers. Reasons for evacuation, are unclear. SOURCE: BBC News
