EC Procures 72,000 Biometric Devices For 2016 Polls The Electoral Commission( EC) says it has procured 72,000 biometric devices to ensure the smooth delivery of the 2016 general election. This means that each of the 29,000 polling stations would have at least a back- up biometric device to cater for break downs. The chairperson of the EC, Mrs Charlotte Osei who disclosed this at a media and stakeholders' workshop in Accra said the decision to procure more biometric devices, was to promptly deal with breakdowns of the biometric machines during the general election. The workshop was organised by the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre. GHANAIAN TIMES
