15th July, 2016 The Daily Graphic says it has always maintained that any company that is offering interest on savings at a rate way beyond the average 91-day Treasury bill rate must properly be assessed and the public cautioned to desist from putting their earning in such schemes. The paper says from its assessment, it is evident people get attracted to such schemes because of the mouthwatering interests rates offered them, forgetting that the juicier the offer, the riskier the schemes. Whiles sympathising with victims of another microfinance scam in the Volta Regional Capital, Ho the Graphic says it expects the Bank of Ghana to get its ears on the ground to cause the arrest of the owners of such companies that run the scheme that have duly not registered with the central bank. Daily Heritage commends the Electoral Commission for allaying the fears that it is unprepared for the polls with a detailed programme ahead of the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. It also says the EC has done well by publishing the long list of names of voters whose names have been deleted from the Voters Register because they registered with the NHIS card and making provision for them to re-register.
