NPP seeks Otumfuor's blessing for 2016 Election victory Former President John Agyekum Kuffuor yesterday officially introduced the NPP's 2016 presidential candidate, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu and the Asanteman traditional council at the Manhyia palace in Kumasi as part of the campaign tour of the Ashanti region by the flagbearer. Mr. Kuffuor appealed to the chiefs to offer the same support they gave him during his tenure as President of Ghana to Nana Akuffo Addo. Also at the Manhyia palace with Nana Addo was a national Vice chairman of the NPP, Frederick Fredua Antoh ,some MPs and former ministers of state including Sampson kwaku Boafo, former minister of chieftaincy and traditional affairs. The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, asked the NPP flagbearer to commit himself to the peace of the country before, during and after the elections. He said even though chiefs are barred from active partisan politics, they always associate themselves with the socio-economic concerns of their subjects. GBC
