UK PM Theresa May affirms Brexit, but 'needs time' 

Britain's new Prime Minister, Theresa May, has maintained that she intends to lead the country out of the European Union, though she also asked EU leaders for time to prepare that path. 

Mrs. May was speaking  outside 10 Downing Street following her appointment by Queen Elizabeth yesterday. 

She again emphasized that the decision to  leave the EU, will forge a bold new positive role for Britain in the world, and will make Britain a country that works not for a privileged few, but for everyone. 

The EU  welcomes the  appointment of Mrs. May as British Prime Minister, but she also told EU leaders that she needed time carry out the British exit.
