ROFAC gives mobility gears to PwDs

 
A Denmark based pro-poor interest charity, Reach Out for the Children, (ROFAC), has presented assorted mobility gears to a number of People with Disabilities (PwDs) in Ho.

The donation was done through Voice-Ghana, a disability rights campaigning NGO based in Ho.

The items include wheel chairs, clutches with reflectors, ordinary elbow clutches and spare tyres.

ROFAC Ghana Coordinator, Stella Adubah told the Ghana News Agency that the items costing 700,000 dollars were procured with donations from some organisations and individuals in Denmark.

She said ROFAC, founded in 2009, had over the past seven years impacted poverty alleviation through supporting street children to go to school, adopting children’s homes as well as helping with books and learning materials and donating beds to hospital in rural areas.
 
Director of Voice-Ghana, Francis Asong said the items had come at the right time to ease the mobility of some people with disabilities who had been clamoring for support from Voice-Ghana.
 
The Program Coordinator of Voice-Ghana, Charles Nyante said the wheel chairs are of various designs to suit amputees, people with cerebral palsy and those with movement difficulties in relation to ageing.
