About 1,088 election officers undergo training in Tema

About 1,088 election officers across the Tema Metropolis and the Kpone-Katamanso District have undergone a three day voters’ register exhibition training programme in Tema. 

Out of the figure, 826 trainees were drawn from the Tema Metropolis while the Kpone-Katamanso District had 262 officers. 

The training is to sharpen the skills of the officers for the upcoming exhibition, and help them to use the biometric verification device and election administration ahead of this year's presidential and parliamentary elections. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Tema Metro Technician in-charge of training, Edem Darlington, said the exhibition starts from the 18th of July to August 7 and urged all to visit the various polling stations in their localities to check their details such as name, age and gender in addition to picture accuracy. 

He noted that the exhibition is to showcase both the provisional and main voters’ register to enable the public to verify their details. 

On major and minor corrections, Mr Darlington said the Commission has deployed some methods for use during the exhibition. 

Some of the participants, who spoke to Radio Ghana, noted that the training has been of benefit to them with regards to being abreast of the fast changing trends in election management.
