EC Deletes Names Of 56,000 NHIS Registrants From Register

The Electoral Commission says it has deleted names of the fifty six thousand voters who registered with NHIS cards. 

Deputy Communications Director at the Commission, Yusif Ayuba said the deletion was done Tueday and announced to the parties at an IPAC meeting. 

He said the names of those deleted will be published in the dailies on Friday to make way for affected persons to take note for re-registration.  

Samuel Ofosu Ampofo of the NDC who was at the IPAC meeting expressed satisfaction at the quick manner with which the EC carried out the Supreme Court’s directive. 

Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, also expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the IPAC meeting. 

He however had reservations about how the EC intends to re-register those affected.
