NDC supporters urged to refrain from negative activities


The Parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the Binduri Constituency of the Upper East Region, Dr. Robert Baba Kuganaab-Lem, has called on his constituents to refrain from negative activities likely to disturb the peace in the area before, during and after the November polls.  

Dr. Baba Kuganaab-Lem, who is also the Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, noted that the people in the area have, over the years, demonstrated political maturity during elections periods. 

They should, therefore, ensure that the peaceful nature of the Constituency remains the same before, during and after the November polls, saying peace was a prerequisite for any form of development, hence efforts ought to be made to protect the peace at all times. 

In an interview with Radio Ghana’s Samuel Ayammah in Bolgatanga, Dr. Baba Kuganaab-Lem, called on the NDC party faithful’s to respect and tolerate opposing views since that will enable all to live in peace with one another. 

He noted that the people in the Constituency are one people with a common destiny therefore they should be civil in their speech. 

Touching on his chances in the upcoming elections, Dr. Baba Kuganaab-Lem said he was confident he will come out of the contest victorious, adding though that will not be an easy task. 

He, however, explained that the presence of his competitors will definitely ginger him to put in extra effort, meaning he will not take things for granted but work hard to increase the votes for himself and his flagbearer. 

He hinted that if he is given the nod, special attention will be given to education and health, which he stressed, was crucial for the development of society and hoped that with time much will be derived since development is a process. 

Dr. Baba Kuganaab-Lem called on the NDC party faithful’s to unite so as to help the party win the November polls. 

He said peace and unity was paramount in the Binduri constituency, entreating all party members and supporters to help protect the relative peace and unity in the area. 

He stressed the need for his other two contestants who lost to him in the party’s parliamentary primary to come together to ensure peace in the constituency. 

He charged them to also ensure that they explain to their followers the need to come together to ensure victory in the 2016 General Elections. 

He said all should ensure clean and decent campaign to sustain the unity and cohesion of the party, and that, provoking or running down others to make them look bad was distasteful and not noble. 

The deputy Upper East Regional Minister therefore asked every genuine member and sympathizer of the party to put the general good of the party ahead of all other considerations and expressed optimism that, they will emerge from the November polls  more united and well-focused on the common goal.
