Applications for 2017 Global Teacher Prize Open 

Nominations and Applications for the 2017 Global Teacher Prize are open from now till the 14th of October, 2016.

2016 winner, Hanan Al Hroub who won the Prize in 2016 calls on Ghanaian students and parents to nominate a teacher to win the prize next year. 

Hanan Al Hroub added, “I encourage parents and pupils to think about the positive teacher role models here in Ghana that are making a difference to the lives of children every day. If a Ghanaian teacher isn’t nominated or doesn’t apply they can’t get the recognition they deserve.”

Widely referred to as the Nobel Prize for teaching, the $1 million award is the largest prize of its kind. 

It was established to recognize one exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the teaching profession as well as to shine a spotlight on the important role teacher’s play in the society.
