The Ghanaian Times says the announcement by the ECG on some adjustments made to the initial tariff increase has rather deepened the confusion over the issue. The paper also feels the President explanation that the tariff reduction is a readjustment and not a subsidy has also not helped matters. To the paper, it appears the ECG and Government are speaking at cross purpose which is fuelling the misinterpretation and confusion in the minds of the public. The Times believes it would be helpful if the ECG and Government come clearly on the matter.
