The Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times and Daily Heritage extend their fraternal greetings to Ghanaian Muslims on the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In an editorial headed 'Lets protect  the peace of the country,' the Daily Graphic welcomes the peace messages that run through  the Eid prayers by various speakers across the country, ahead of the November 7 polls. The paper is happy that the Muslim leadership took the opportunity to debunk the false notion that Islam is a violent religion. It therefore urges the Muslim community especially the youth to take advantage of this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr to chart a new path and leave behind all the negative tags of terrorism and violence which the community especially the Zongos have been associated with.

The Ghanaian times reminds Muslims to be guided by the principles of Islam as they celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr festivities. The paper believes that having come out of the 30 day fast, they would begin afresh and eschew certain activities that would disturb the peace of the country. The Times calls on Muslim youth in particular to team up with the community leaders as well as politicians to run a clean campaign in the run-up to the 2016 general elections. It commends the efforts of the National chief Imam and all Muslim leaders and chiefs who continue to admonish the youth especially those in the Zongos, to stay on the right path and not allow themselves to be used by politicians to serve their parochial interest.

The Daily Heritage uses the opportunity to caution the youth especially those living in the Zongo communities to ignore blood thirsty politicians who might contract their services to foment trouble this election year. The paper urges the Muslim Youth to maintain the peace and all the good values they sought and prayed for during the holy month of Ramadan.
