NIA data is appropriate document to ensure credible Voters’ register - PPP

The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) says the Supreme Court’s order to have the names of persons who registered with NHIS cards deleted will not ensure the sanctity of the  November 7 Elections.  

According to the party, the names of minors, dead persons and foreigners far outnumber the 56,000 names the EC submitted to the Supreme Court. 

At a news conference addressed by the Party's National Secretary, Murtala Mohammed, he accused both the NDC and NPP of guilt in the registering of minors and foreigners, thereby bloating the voters register. 

The PPP insists that the only way to make the register credible is to use data from the National Identification Authority.
