Parliament refers Constitution Amendment Bill 2016 for consideration The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho has referred the Constitution Amendment Bill 2016 to the Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs for consideration. The Speaker in accordance with Article 291 of the Constitution referred the Bill to the Council of State for consideration and advice after the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine presented the Bill on the Floor last week Tuesday. Mr Adjaho said following the council of state's advice, the committee will have to examine the bill in detail before reporting to the house. This Particular Bill is in respect of amending Article 112 of the Constitution to provide for the date for Parliamentary elections. The Constitution Amendment Bill 2016 has already been published twice in the Gazette. GBC
