Senior citizens asked to share expertise for national development Senior citizens in the Upper West Region have been asked to make their expertise available to relevant authorities to promote the development of the region. The Regional Minister Alhaji Amidu Sulemani made the call during the celebration of this year’s Republic Day at Wa. In the Northern part of Ghana, the Northern Regional Minister, Abdallah Abubakar has urged senior Citizens in the region to continue to exert their influence and rich experience on the youth to make them meaningful leaders in the society. He said the increasing indiscipline among the youth is a cause for concern. He implored senior citizens to help address this issue. He said though the youth of today face a daunting worldwide problem of unemployment, there is the need for them to make good use of the existing opportunities and eschew acts that can plunge the nation into chaos. Mr. Abubakar was speaking at a ceremony to mark Senior Citizens day in Tamale. GBC
