22 die in accidents on Kumasi-Konongo Highway Twenty-two people have been killed and nine others injured in a road accident at Nobewam on the Kumasi-Konongo highway in the Ashanti region. The casualties were in two car crashes at the same place and involved different commercial vehicles ramming into a stationary timber truck parked along the road. A source with the rescue team which attended to the emergency situation told our Correspondent in Kumasi that the first commercial car to ram into the timber truck was a Benz Bus at about 7.45 pm on Thursday (June 30). Five of the passengers on board the vehicle which was believed to be traveling from Konongo towards Kumasi died on the spot. The second accident involving another Sprinter bus also occurred at the same scene at about 4am yesterday (July 1). Thirteen of the passengers on board that vehicle died on the spot with six others sustaining injuries. GBC
