Supreme Court strikes out Nii Armah Ashietey's review application 

The Supreme Court has struck out a review application filed by counsel for the MP for Klottey Korle Constituency Armah Ashitey. 

The lawyer, Gary Nimako Marfo, wanted a review of the Supreme Court's ruling which stayed proceedings at the High Court in respect of the case involving Nii Armah Ashitey and Dr Zanetor Rawlings. 

Mr Nimako sought to challenge the highest court's decision to set aside the High Court's ruling on an application filed by Dr Zanetor Rawlings to dismiss a suit against her. 

The Supreme Court set aside the ruling on grounds that the judge at the High Court wrongly assumed jurisdiction and interpreted Article 94, subsection 1, Clause A. 

The seven member panel presided over by Justice William Atuguba struck out the review application as redrawn. 

The court said Mr Nimako should have waited for the interpretation of the said Article before applying for a review.

The substantive case will now be heard after both parties file their addresses to the court.
