Kingsley Obeng-Kyereh [Behind The News/Standout] Kingsley is married with two children. They both form part of the programme he produces called "Curious Minds". Kingsley considers himself to be a global citizen but for precision purposes a Ghanaian from Africa. Kingsley is a graduate of the University of Ghana and presently reports, writes and produces programmes. He is also a talk show host and handles the personality program "Stand Out" and other discussion programs. Web Xtra asked about his starting point in the media and this is what he had to say Kingsley: - I have been in the media since 1995. I started with short stories and poems and moved on to articles on varied issues. I was a location reporter on the then "Good Morning Accra" program and had lively pieces on the Radio GAR, now Uniiq FM. Web Xtra: - Can you share your view on what the media should be used for? Kingsley: - I think the media should be used as a responsible tool for development. I have even handled a number of presentations on it at both the local and international levels. Kingsley is very comfortable with issues on the environment, gender and science and has over the period helped to nurture the young people’s group (CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN BROADCASTING). When asked why he loves to help raise young people in broadcasting, he said “It is to enable the youth strive towards excellence and not to project oneself above others. Kingsley believes in giving his quota and complaining little. Others do not have the chance to do so and every challenge should be seen as another opportunity, he said. Kingsley's ultimate dream is to be able to meet the standard that God Jehovah requires of him and bless others.
