Day old baby abandoned at public cemetery rescued A day old baby boy, abandoned at a public cemetery at Mpintsin in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis has been rescued and is now receiving treatment at a private clinic in the community. Kofi Hackman, the Good Samaritan who rescued the child, told the media in Takoradi that he was attending to nature’s call in a nearby bush when he heard an unusual noise from the cemetery. He became alarmed and traced the noise only to discover the baby boy wrapped in a polythene bag,lying by a tomb. Mr. Hackman said he raised an alarm, which attracted some neighbours to the scene, who assisted him to untie the polythene bag and rescue the baby. The Chief Executive Officer of the Clinic where the baby is being cared for, Madam Sarah Edith Kwofie, said the baby is responding to treatment. Meanwhile the Police have instituted investigations into the matter. GNA
