Man arrested over shooting incident in Kato Chieftaincy dispute

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Command has arrested Paul Kyere Osei Atta, a 31 year old farmer and druggist, for his alleged involvement in the shooting incident in the Kato Chieftaincy dispute. 

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Christopher Tawiah made this known in an interview with GBC in Sunyani.  

He said the suspect was arrested on Friday around 10:30pm at his residence in Kato. 

The Police retrieved an Italian made gun, with registration number 442990 together with documents covering the weapon. 

ASP Tawiah said the suspect admitted firing during the violent clash in Kato. 

He said even though Mr Ofori Atta did produce a valid document covering the weapon he was still put in police custody for further investigations.
