Unemployed nurses demonstrate over delay in postings Some nurses and midwives Wednesday demonstrated against the government over their long stay at home after completing their national service for some time now. The more than 2,241 trained nurses and Midwives are yet to be posted by the Ministry of Health. A male nurse, Richmond Boateng, who came down to Accra from Kumasi to participate in the demonstration described their situation as appalling. He appealed to the government to post them as a matter of urgency to help save lives at public health facilities. Meanwhile the Ministry says the demonstration was held in bad faith because the nurses and midwives were asked to purchase their engagement forms and fill them before they can be posted, but the nurses and midwives are insisting that they should be posted before the forms are filled. The PRO of the Ministry, Tony Goodman told Radio Ghana that Management would not accept any form of insubordination because Ghana is in an election year. GBC
