Energy experts kick against government's decision to offer ECG on concession for 25 years An Energy Expert, Kwame Jantuah says he disagrees with government's decision to select a private partner to operate the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG on concession for 25 years. In his view, what government should do is to adopt proper mechanisms such as employing competent Ghanaian energy experts to run the company rather than resorting to foreigners for help. Speaking on Behind the News, Mr Jantuah said such a move will be a high cost to the economy. The Campaign Coordinator of ISODEC, Steve Manteaw, also called on the Ministry of Energy to re-think through its decision on ECG. He said there is a more prudent way to solve the energy crisis but certainly not privatization adding that the government should learn from past experiences of privatization. GBC
