The Ghanaian Times raises concerns about Ghanaians preference for foreign goods. It says a lot of developed countries owe their economic success to the support their local industries receive from the state. The Paper therefore supports President Mahama's comments on the security agencies neglect of the shoe factory in Kumasi. President Mahama denounced the security agencies for procuring boots from other countries and abandoning those from the Defense Industries Holding Company, DIHOC while addressing a meeting of Council of State in Accra. The paper suggests continued awareness creation on the 'buy made in Ghana goods' campaign. 
                        
Today Newspaper says the tendency of incumbent governments abusing incumbency, particularly during elections, has become a common phenomenon with African leaders with Ghana not being an exception. The Paper questions why President Mahama should use his Accounting to the People Tour to do sod cutting of state projects when these can be done, by his Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives.

The General Telegraph says the threat of a possible terrorist attack on the country has forced the IMF to postpone its review mission to the country. According to the paper, rumours of terrorist attack are not only devastating but have the potential to scare investors from bringing their funds into the country.  The Telegraph however says it is refreshing to learn that President Mahama has set up a counter-terrorism unit to ward off any attack that might destabilise the peace of the country. It urges those mandated to man the unit to prove beyond doubt that indeed they have the nation at heart and bring all fears under control.
