Religious leaders advised against inflammatory utterances

President Mahama has described as needless the tendency of some religious leaders to cause fear and panic through their utterances. 

According to him, though terrorists have attacked some countries close to Ghana, citizens must have confidence in the security apparatus. 

The President was interacting with the Christian Council of Churches in the Eastern Region as he rounds up his three-day tour of the region.  

President Mahama said he is confident that the intercession by the religious leaders will help protect the country from evil. 
 
The Chairman of the Eastern Regional Christian Council of Churches, Rev Owusu Tagoe thanked government for the regions share of the national cake in terms of development. 

He however noted that development thrives in an atmosphere of peace, and called on the government to maintain peace and security.
