John Kerry makes historic visit to Hiroshima memorial

US Secretary of State, John Kerry has made a historic visit to Hiroshima's peace keeping memorial park. 

He is the most senior administration officer ever to visit the Japanese city. 

Speaking at a  news conference after laying a wreath at the city's atomic bomb memorial, Mr Kerry said his visit is a reminder of the need to get rid of nuclear weapons. 

He was accompanied by Foreign Ministers from the G7 nations who will be holding talks in the city.
