The Daily Graphic thinks it is about time the country turned to renewable energy particularly solar. This is because of the availability of the sun for such a venture. The paper says when hydro-power became unreliable because of the erratic rainfall pattern, thermal was the saviour but alas, the high costs of crude oil and insufficient gas supply have exposed the weakness in that generation mix. To the Graphic, the long term resolution of the country's power crisis lies in massive investment in solar energy. 

The Ghanaian Times say even though it respects traditional leaders and their desire to protect their own it would be best if they stayed off rape cases. The Times is worried about the situation where some rape culprits are simply fined by their chiefs and let off the hook only to pray on other females especially children. The paper refers to a 40 year old man who has been fined two thousand cedis by the chief and elders of Anaimo Ate, a community in the  Amenfi East District in the Western Region for having a sexual relationship with his 17 year old niece. The Times calls on the Police and DOVVSU to be vigilant to help deal with such situations. 

The Daily Heritage congratulates NPP's Ursula Owusu on wining the Ablekuma West Constituency Primary. However, the paper says she has much work to do before the general election as indications from the constituency are that the party is more bruised after the primary than before. The Daily Heritage believes all efforts must be made to assuage the anger and bring all on board since elections are about numbers.
