KNUST graduate and member of "ISIS" killed In Homs, Syria- Reports


The 25 year old KNUST graduate, Nazir Nortei Alema, who left Ghana to join ISIS last year, has been killed.

A family member who confirmed his death to GBC online said  final Islamic funeral rites was held for him over the weekend in his family house at Osu a suburb of Accra.

Nazir was reportedly killed in the Syrian city of Homs. 

Nazir Nortei Alema, a 25-year-old graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), was last August identified as one of ten Muslim Youth who had been radicalised and have left the country to join the Islamic group (IS).

Nazir and his friends left the country in August, soon after the former completed his mandatory National Service with the Statistical Service.

His father, at the time, said his son sent the family a message that he was on his way to Prestea on official assignment. He however, sent another one after a while to divulge his diabolical intentions.
